A beautiful oil painting on wood, attributed to the national artist Alfredo Valenzuela Puelma (1856-1909), depicts a rural landscape with a simple house peeking out from wild foliage, likely a landscape of La Reina, like so many others he painted. The intricately painted composition captures a warm sunset atmosphere with a sky tinged with pink and yellow hues. The work has an elegant molded-carved wooden frame with decorated reliefs and a gilt finish.
Origin: Chile, late 19th century.
