El estilo Luis XVI: recuperando la época clásica

El estilo Luis XVI, conocido como Style à la grecque, surgió en Francia alrededor de 1760 antes de que Luis XVI ascendiera al trono en 1774. Influenciado por el redescubrimiento de Herculano y Pompeya y las ideas ilustradas, se caracteriza por su sencillez y geometría. Colores suaves, decoraciones simétricas y motivos clásicos como guirnaldas son típicos.

El mobiliario es más pequeño y ligero, con patas rectas y nuevos tipos de sillas y mesas. Las camas se dividen en cama francesa y cama polaca. Las habitaciones son menos formales y especializadas.
