Oil painting by the painter Rafael Correa Muñoz was born in 1872 in Santiago, Chile.
He began his artistic career at a very early age, participating in workshops taught by Giovanni Mochi and later by Pedro Lira. Furthermore, when he was barely twelve, he won his first award in an official competition, an Honorable Mention, which paved the way for his recognition, and four years later, he won the highest prize at the Official Salon of Santiago. After completing his secondary studies, he enrolled as a regular student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Santiago de Compostela.
