Fossa Calderón - Oil on wood 'Coastal edge'
An oil on wood painting by Chilean artist Julio Fossa Calderón (1884-1946), playfully depicts a coastal landscape with cottages, palm trees, and a few buildings. This painting is set within an asymmetrical composition in which the sea occupies most of the canvas, giving the painting an interesting scale and texture, reflecting the movement of the waves. The work is framed in carved wood with reliefs and painted in elegant gold.
