Inés Puyó León was born on December 9, 1906, in Santiago, Chile. Although her parents initially opposed her dedication to painting, Puyó nevertheless entered the School of Fine Arts in 1927.

In Chile, the artist participated in various exhibitions and won important awards in categories related to both fine and applied arts. Her most notable distinctions were her induction as a Full Member of the Chilean Academy of Fine Arts in 1983 and, a year later, the Gabriela Mistral Decoration for Teaching and Cultural Merit.

His works always managed to project naturalness and expressiveness. His palette was primarily characterized by an austere use of color, with grays and metallic tones taking center stage, as can be seen in this painting of flowers.
