Direct from Paris, the birthplace of Art Deco, a magnificent and original French Art Deco "Gatsby Era" 5-piece sterling silver tea set with a silver-plated serving tray, created by one of France's leading goldsmiths, "Tetard Frères." A value - Circa 1920s. The Art Deco movement, which emerged in the early 20th century, left an indelible mark on various forms of art and design, including the field of goldsmithing. Among the notable figures in this field, Tetard stands out as a visionary whose craftsmanship and artistic vision embodied the essence of Art Deco.

The Art Deco movement originated in Paris following World War I, flourishing in the 1920s and 1930s. It was characterized by its embrace of modernity, geometric forms, luxurious materials, and bold designs. This aesthetic permeated diverse spheres of artistic expression, from architecture and interior design to fashion and fine art. Silversmithing also experienced a revival during this period, with artisans pushing the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship to create pieces that embodied the spirit of the times. This is a stunning original Art Deco 4-piece sterling silver tea/coffee service with a silver-plated serving tray, dating from the early 1900s and presented as a stunning testament to the quality and craftsmanship of Tetard Frères. All pieces have been professionally restored to "like new" condition and are unmonogrammed. The teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl, and cream jug all bear the Tetard Frères sterling silver maker's hallmark, in addition to the French government "Head of Minerva" hallmark. The silver-plated serving tray is also in "like new" condition, with no wear to the silver plating, even on the underside.
